INTUITIVE RIDING

Do you remember the moment when you first set eyes on your horse? What was it that attracted you to him/her? Much in the same way that we meet and become friendly with other humans it is not a set of logical criteria that bonds us together, more an instinctive knowing of each other at an intuitive level. Birds of a feather flock together the saying goes. Lasting relationships that grow to love are born from right brain intuition not left brain logic. You cannot truly love because you ought to, it is because you cannot help it! Recognising our similarities helps us to understand one another better and form a better partnership. Surely this is what we are all looking for with our horse. Results can be gained through fear and domination but one partner always suffers as a result and the full potential of the union goes unfulfilled. Only through a true symbiotic relationship can true harmony be found.
Sadly we live in a world where left-brain logic rules many of our lives. When we are taught and learn by rote without experience we miss the learning opportunity. A child learns to walk by making mistakes that are learning experiences. If chastised for making mistakes we become fearful and so fail to develop our learning for fear of failing. Many people become stuck with a problem with a horse and rush to another to fix it for them. Today I want to present to you the idea that perhaps you are the person that knows best and with the help of your like-minded horse to mirror you, the solution can be found within yourself. If you can listen to your horse he/she will tell you the way to find the harmony you are searching for. No one can tell you about right or wrong that is a question of your own perspective. We are all individuals with different likes and dislikes (Thank God, or all women would be after the same man) What matters is what makes you happy what FEELS good. I hope today to act as counsellor for our guinea pigs and open up a new perspective on their relationships. This is no special talent or trick, just opening up the way to new learning through breaking away from learnt behaviour and habit and helping them to find how much more potential they can discover by allowing their partner to show them the way. Horses connect far better than humans to their right brain capabilities and therefore can help to show us how easy it is to bring out their talent, if we let them, through sensitivity and Intuitive riding.
